PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The power for the illuminated squishy ball is generated by a dynamo on the user. When the dynamo's pulley is clipped to a friend, the two are locked together physically and symbolically.

Throughout the pair's interaction, any movement towards and away from each other generates power, which is stored in a battery. Once the two separate, the battery is placed in the squishy ball and then given to the friend the user was connected to.

This gift, though representative of friendship and the time spent together, is also somewhat perversely given as a lure - a material object that requires recharging and further interaction. All interactions leave some sort of mark, however brief and simple. The subconscious tendency highlighted here is the manipulation of others to hold them to you.
